Key Race Guidelines: What Every Runner Must Know
- Choose Your Distance Wisely – The event features a 42K full marathon and a 21K half marathon. Walk or run, but no shortcuts!
- Pre-Race Briefing is Mandatory – Don’t skip it! All participants must attend the briefing at Khuruthang Multisport Hall the day before the race. Bring a photo ID for check-in.
- No Refunds – Once you’ve registered, there’s no turning back—entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
- Official Transport Only – Personal cars are not allowed on the race route. All runners must take the official transport to the starting line.
- Beat the Cut-Off Time – You must cross the Punakha Suspension Bridge by 1:00 PM. Miss the deadline? You’ll be picked up by the sweeping team.
- Respect Nature – Bhutan is known for its pristine environment, so no littering! Dispose of waste only at aid stations.
- Show sportsmanship—treat fellow runners, spectators, and officials with respect.
- No external aid—only official race personnel can provide support.
- Follow traffic rules and stay on the marked route.
- No foul language or aggressive behavior—this is a race, not a fight!
Want to avoid getting kicked out of the marathon? Don’t do these!
- Cheating – No shortcuts, no vehicles, no sneaky moves!
- False Registration – Running under a fake name? Instant disqualification!
- Violence or Misconduct – Aggression toward race officials or fellow runners will not be tolerated.
- Taking Unauthorized Aid – You can only receive help from official aid stations or fellow runners.
